Do you have a favorite childhood 4th of July memory? One of mine would be when we were kids way, way back..pop wasn't something that we had very often...it was a treat to us..and one of the times we did get it was for the 4th. We also didn't go to a fireworks show or anything like that but we did have our own fireworks at home. Living in the country there was no rules or laws otherwise..So, we would go down to the grocery store where we would pick out our favorite pop..mine was Strawberry..back when it still came in 10 oz "glass" bottles...and also buy our fireworks all at the same time. My favorite fireworks were the little ting "snakes". You lit the end of a little round black "pill" size disk..it would puff up and grow like a snake...They still have them but they don't seem quite as big as they were when we were kids...I suppose nothing ever does..But, they do make great memories.

So, please leave me a comment telling me your favroite childhood memory for the 4th or just a summer time memory since I hope to have people from all over the world visiting my blog today...I'll have a drawing for my "blog candy" on Monday...

Thanks for visiting and I hope however you celebrate today that it creates a great memory!

Hugs
T

Love the little image you used. I really don't have July 4th memory, but I do have a summertime one. I lived out in the country, and our parish(county) library had a mobile van loaded with books, and they made their way to the rural areas every 2 weeks. I always looked forward to the BOOKMOBILE coming to our house, so I could go on the van, and choose my reading material for the next 2 weeks. I still love to read today.

Such an adorable card. I have fond memories of holding sparklers and making patterns with them by swinging them around in a circle really fast. Thanks for asking. That was fun to remember.

Thanks for sharing your creativity and participating in the blog hop. It's been great to see everyone's work.

My favorite memory is all of our family members packing up their cars with coolers, fishing lines, great food and games for the kids... heading to Peach Lake and cooking everything from breakfast to supper on the grill, getting way too much sun... playing baseball and catching sun fish.

Enjoy your holiday.

When I think back on my childhood memories of the 4th of July one time stands out. We were watching the fireworks with out Pastor and his family. As we ooohed and ahhhed over all the fireworks we kept expecting them to end...okay here's the finale! We must have had 5 or 6 finales! :) Now it's a running joke in our family about the "final finale"! God Bless America! Happy 4th!

well this is going to sound funny but I would have to say that the 4th that I remember the most is when I was about 7 we live in some apartments and all the family's got together to do their fire works. there was a stay rocket that landed int eh pile of fire works and they all went off at once. It was amazing to watch but I was so upset cause my sparklers were in the pile after all the fire works had gone off I went over to try and find some sparklers to see if any were missed by the fire, Was not thinking to much about it and was barefooted and found some sparklers that were still hot let me tell you that part was not fun!

Very cute card! I remember going to see fireworks at the football stadium when I was a kid and how loud they were. When I was a teen I helped my sister decorate her bike for a 4th of July parade and we were both so happy when she won.

My favorite 4th memories involve my wonderful siblings (two bros and a sis) chasing after me with fireworks and even setting them off in my direction. I never got hurt and they made me sooo mad! But, I'll never forget the fun times we had together!

First - I love the cutsie image on your card...great choice. Second, I'm Canadian, but my favourite 4th memory is from a trip we took to relatives in Omaha a few years ago....we were fascinated, nearly dumbstruck as everyone on my aunt & uncle's bay waited until sundown and then dragged tubs and tubs of fireworks to the end of their driveways and shot everything off....it was amazing...and the whole city seemed to be in a haze from the fireworks. Our kids had a blast and always beg to go back...maybe next year :)

What a precious card! The image is such a sweet one and you did such a great job adding all the detail!

My favorite childhood memory would have to be holding my own sparklers! I wasn't brave enough to do any of the loud fireworks, even if my mom would have let me! But those sparklers were magical! :)

I want to say that mine is family picnics at my Grandma Gigi's. She's now passed away, but I remember the special drinks and treats she would make then she'd give us sparklers to light off. We then as a family would go to our local state park for some fireworks. What a great ending to a fun filled day. I also remember Gigi's singing.
